What is Pre-owned Vehicle Warranty?
If your vehicle is out of warranty, you could be at risk of massive financial loss if it breaks down. Ensure that you’re prepared for the unexpected with our Pre-Owned Vehicle Warranty.
This cover is specifically designed for vehicles with an expired manufacturer warranty or soon to end extended warranty. It covers the repair and/or replacement of vehicle components in the event of mechanical and/or electrical failure.

Your car is covered until it is 20 years old or has done 400 000km, whichever comes first (from the date it was first registered).
How do you know what plan you need?
We have 4 plans to ensure we can cover almost any vehicle. Here is a breakdown:
Important to note:
To qualify for any of the plans above, the vehicle’s mileage must be less than 120 000km (recorded on the odometer) from the date of the original registration.
How do I qualify for a Pre-Owned Warranty?
Your vehicle must;
- Be a passenger, 4x4 or light commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle mass of less than 3 500 kg;
- Be in a sound mechanical condition and have a valid roadworthy certificate.
- Have a full service history in place as per manufacturers specifications. If no up to date service history, it is your responsibility to have the vehicle serviced within 30 days of your policy purchase date. This service must be done in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specification for the age and kilometres of the vehicle at the time
- Be less than 14 years of age, should have less than 250 000km on the clock/odometer
What is excluded?
- Normal wear and tear.
- Taxis, rental vehicles, rebuilt vehicles.
- Pre-Existing conditions.
- Serviceable components.
How do I claim?
To claim on the Pre-owned Vehicle Warranty policy, contact our call centre on 0861 11 25 64 from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 17:00 and one of our helpful consultants will guide you through the process.
When claiming, please have this information ready:
- Owner’s name
- Policy number
- Current odometer reading on your vehicle
- Nature of mechanical failure/breakdown
- Address where vehicle can be inspected
- Service records and/or invoices.
Important to note:
All repair work must be authorised in advance and must be carried out by an authorised repairer.
